NICHS Stroke Services

Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke are working at the heart of the community to alleviate the suffering resulting from stroke. We offer a range of services to stroke clients and their families in order to provide support and help to those affected.

Weekly Stroke Services

We currently have stroke services in all Health Care Trust areas of Northern Ireland. These provide the clients with a tailored programme of support at a weekly stroke club within their locality.

Stroke Family Support Scheme

This scheme offers home support to the carers and families of individuals who have experienced a stroke by providing information, emotional support and respite to the carer and family at a time when their needs are greatest.

Young Stroke Scheme

This service is designed specifically to meet a different range of needs than that of the older person, with the emphasis on the provision of information about their illness, education, programmes dealing with the psychological effects of stroke as well as the physical impact.

Carers Group

This group is designed to offer support to carers, relatives, partners and friends of a stroke client.
