What we do

NICHS aims to improve the quality of life of the people of Northern Ireland by preventing and alleviating chest, heart and stroke illnesses.

NICHS provides programmes of health promotion, research, rehabilitation, advice and support services.

Why we need volunteers

NICHS would be unable to provide the range of services it does without the support of volunteers. Nearly everyone knows someone affected by Chest, Heart & Stroke related illness and this is an opportunity to offer time and skills to make a difference to people's lives.

If you wish to become a Volunteer with NICHS then email volunteer@nichs.org.uk for more information and an application form.

What experience is required?

No previous experience is required but we do look for certain qualities in volunteers such asreliability, honesty, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Feel you don't have time to be a volunteer?

All we need is an hour or two a year or month or week, whatever time you can give.

What do I gain from volunteering?

Volunteering offers you the opportunity to meet
new people, build confidence, gain experience to add to your C.V. and the chance to develop or learn new skills. It is an opportunity to give something back to your local community, the chance to make a difference.
