Saturday 31 May 2008 - Saturday 31 May 2008

Here's your opportunity to spend a beautiful summer's day walking in a picture postcard landscape. Following two very successful years, NI Chest Heart and Stroke will be holding the Causeway Trek again this year. This year we're introducing a three mile Mini Trek walk, so even more people can join in!
The walk may be eleven miles but the only "milestone" we are asking you to reach is the finishing point at Larrybane. The walk will set off from the Giant's Causeway and, asdie from the magnificence of the Causeway itself, you will also be treated to views of Dunserverick Harbour, the smallest Church in Ireland at Portbradden, and the windswept sand dunes of Whiterpark bay.
Are you up to the Challenge?
To take part in the walk all you have to do is complete a registration form, pay a fee of £7.00 and raise some sponsorship.
The Walk can be challenging, so you need to have a good level of fitness as there are steep climbs and an area of shingle and boulders to negotiate at Portbradden beach. You must also ensure that you are prepared for the day's weather conditions and wear appropriate clothes, a proper pair of walking shoes and sun screen if necessary. Also bring adequate food and drinks for the duration of the walk. Before the even we will send you more detailed information.
For safety reasons the number of walkers cannot exceed 500 and we also ask that you leave pets at home. Buggies and prams are not allowed.
If the weather conditions on the day are likely to cause safety concerns, NICHS reserve the right to cancel the event at short notice. Check for details, listen to radio for emergency announcements or telephone 028 9032 4733
