Health Committee Hears Charity Evidence On Stroke Care

The Assembly's Health Committee is taking evidence from stroke charities in preparation for the development of a new strategy for treating the condition.
The Assembly's Health Committee is taking evidence from stroke charities in preparation for the development of a new strategy for treating the condition.
It is hearing from representatives of NI Chest, Heart and Stroke and Speechmatters - Part of the Stroke Association. NI Chest, Heart and Stroke is pressing for faster diagnosis and guaranteed care in a specialist stroke unit, but two areas of Northern Ireland, Coleraine and Downpatrick, don't have such a unit.
The Health Committee meeting is at 2.30pm on Thursday April 10, 2008 at Lagan Valley Hospital, Lisburn.
Representatives of NI Chest, Heart and Stroke will be available for interview at 4pm in Belfast. A full news release will be provided on the day.
