NI Chest Heart & Stroke welcomes the considerable increase in health resources.

At least an additional £30m will be guaranteed each year for health.

We welcome the 700 extra heart procedures which will now be delivered each year. This will mean a huge difference to many individuals and families. It is now 17 years since NICHS began campaigning on this issue.

It is our hope that the Royal Hospital, which is the sole provider of cardiac surgery, will be able to gear up speedily to take on this welcome extra work.

We also welcome support for people at home suffering long-term conditions such as stroke, emphysema, bronchitis, heart disease, diabetes and arthritis.
